Faux-ahontas Elizabeth Warren Plagiarized Recipes for Cookbook, PowWow Chow

Faux-ahontas Elizabeth Warren Plagiarized Recipes for Cookbook, PowWow Chow
November 30, 2017
Socialist and Fake Indian, Elizabeth Warren, plagiarized the “family” recipes she contributed to a published cookbook called PowWow Chow. The recipes were stolen.
One of the recipes, not something one would see on the Trail of Tears, was called ‘Cold Crab Omelet’, and it came from a famous French chef, Pierre Franey, according to a Boston radio host.
The recipe was a favorite of the Duke and Duchess of England – the former English king – and Cole Porter.
The host also had her DNA tested but unfortunately, there wasn’t enough DNA. ....

Jacques Pepin's egalitarian approach to good eating is as relevant as ever

Several times a week, Jacques Pepin posts a cooking video on Facebook.
The videos aren’t long — usually about five minutes — and the recipes aren’t complicated.  It’s not unusual for one video to receive upwards of 25,000 views.
While each video demonstrates a complete recipe (sometimes with editing), nearly every one also demonstrates at least one neat trick, shortcut or useful technique to help make the viewer a better cook.
It’s a culmination of a long career for the 85-year-old French-born Pepin, a chef, educator, cookbook writer and television host.
Pepin barely skipped a beat in December when his wife of 54 years, Gloria, died at age 83. ....

Last: Warming reds for hearty winter fare

Article content
I’m hoping by the time this column runs the deep freeze will have moved on but, let’s face it, while global warming is undoubtedly real, Calgary in February is perhaps not the best place to demonstrate that phenomena. At the very least it gives us something else to complain about other than the plague and Donald Trump. I’ve always tried to eat seasonally which, for me at this time of year, means things like Shepherd’s Pie (try the curried version from Craig Claiborne and Pierre Franey, created in 1984, you can find it on Epicurious and NYT Cooks), roast chicken and any kind of braised meat. As much as I frequently crave a glass of lightly chilled riesling, it’s not what calls out to me for deep freeze fare (unless, of course, you’re starting the meal with some curried prawns, for example). As such here’s a selection of reds from the Okanagan and Spain to get you through the cold nights while keeping those stews and roasts company. ....
