Sue Addis murder Brighton: Pietro Addis denies murder of gran

A GRANDSON appeared in court accused of murdering a city restaurant boss.
Sue Addis was found dead in her home at Cedars Gardens in Brighton on January 7.
The 69-year-old restaurant boss owned the popular Donatello and Pinocchio’s venues in The Lanes and North Laine.
Her death caused shock in the city, with hundreds paying tribute to her kindness and charity work.
Now, it can be revealed that her 18-year-old grandson Pietro Addis is accused of her murder.
Reporting restrictions prohibiting him being identified expired when he turned 18 in March.
He appeared via video link at Hove Crown Court for an interim hearing before Her Honour Judge Christine Laing QC. ....

The grandson of a millionaire restaurateur found stabbed to death in her own home has denied murdering her, a court was told.
Sue Addis, 69, owned the popular Brighton eateries Donatello s and Pinocchio s which were frequented by Premiership footballers and celebrities including Bill Nighy and Katie Price.
She died after suffering multiple stab wounds at her home in January.
Her body was found at her £1million cottage in Withdean on the edge of Brighton on January 8.
Police arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of murder and said Mrs Addis, who lived alone, and the suspect were known to each other. ....

Man found dead on Kingston Beach, Shoreham

A MAN has been found dead on a beach in Shoreham.
Dozens of offices attended the scene on Kingston Beach this morning following the concerns for the welfare of a man.
Pictures taken from the scene show officers blocking the entrance to Shoreham RNLI lifeboat station, as investigators attend the site.
Police were called to the beach at 9.00am, where the man was pronounced dead.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman from Sussex Police said: Sussex Police attended Kingston Beach, Shoreham, following concerns for the welfare of a man.

CCTV released after man stabbed on train at Brighton Station

Police have released CCTV following the late night brawl between two groups of men
Violence broke out while the train sat at Brighton Station, shortly before midnight on Friday, April 23.
During the fight, one man received stab wounds to his head and neck, while another was dragged to the floor and stamped on.
Officers are searching for the men in the images and say that they may have information that could help with their investigation.

To manage the risk, the force has launched a new vigilance campaign, urging people to report any concerns they have.
Chief superintendent Jerry Westerman, head of operations command for Surrey and Sussex Police said: “There is no current specific threat to Surrey or Sussex but following a year of restrictions impacting all our lives, we recognise people will be keen to get out and about as the lockdown begins to ease, and the importance of businesses being able to return to more regular trading patterns. ....
