Neufeld trained as a dancer in her youth, and like that vibrant, kinetic, physically demanding art form, she uses her violin and cinematic soundscapes to span and express a range of emotions through reflective tones and sharp abstract shapes. 8 In many ways, House Music feels like a Bell Orchestre reboot. Having started informally in the early 00s as a loose group of musicians who occasionally provided score for various friends art projects, it wasn t until 2003 when they had reached a point of cohesion they undertook the recording of their first album. But then something quite momentous happened. That something was, of course, Arcade Fire. And since that quickly ascending project shared Richard Reed Parry and Sarah Neufeld with Bell Orchestre, the band was more or less put on pause. Arcade Fire s Sarah Neufeld Sets May Release For New Solo Album Detritus Thursday, 11 February 2021 Written by Jon Stickler Sarah Neufeld, known for her work with Arcade Fire, has shared details of her first solo album in five years. Detritus will arrive on May 14 via Paper Bag/One Little Independent Records and feature the newly shared opening track, Stories, a contemplative arrangement showcasing the violinist and composer s haunting vocals over a blend of strings and celestial synths. Neufeld who is also a member of Bell Orchestre worked with Arcade Fire bandmate Jeremy Gara, Bell Orchestre bandmate Pietro Amato and Stuart Bogie on what will be her third solo LP, and the follow-up to 2016 s The Ridge .
