PSI to go on despite objections: Penang CM

GEORGE TOWN: Despite numerous objections from various parties, the Penang government will proceed with the Penang South Islands (PSI) project, formerly known as Penang South Reclamation (PSR) project.

(pix) said it is not one or the other referring to the PSI, the environment issue and fishermen welfare.
He said the state has been listening and agreed with the concerned parties on the importance of taking climate change into consideration and protecting the welfare of fisherman.
“This is why we are implementing so many mitigation measures, carrying out a socioeconomic plan for fishermen, and introducing green initiatives for the PSI development. Suffice to say that such a massive and comprehensive plan to improve the fishing community has never been done before anywhere in the country. ....

China Airlines Ltd (CAL,中華航空) yesterday confirmed that it would temporarily reduce its cargo flight services to cope with a pilot shortage, as one-sixth of its pilots have been sidelined by a COVID-19 outbreak.
“We are working out a new schedule,” the airline said in a statement after local news media reports on Saturday said that it would be reducing its cargo services from Wednesday, primarily affecting US destinations. ....
