A parliamentary committee has told the government to stop propagating the idea that public servants are transferred to the Chittagong Hill Tracts for failure to do their job.

The parliamentary standing committee on the Chittagong Hill Tracts affairs ministry discussed the issue centring a TV advertisement of a tea brand with a dialogue: “I will have you transferred to Bandarban overnight.”
The committee argued on Wednesday that such an ad may create a negative idea about the transfer of public servants and the hill tracts, said Kujendra Lal Tripura, a member of the committee. ....

Awami League government-led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ensured religious and cultural rights of all people, said Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
She made the statement virtually attending Saraswati Puja at Rajdhani High School premises at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on Tuesday as the chief guest.
About unprecedented communal harmony in the country, she said “People of different religions and backgrounds are enjoying freedom to celebrate their respective rituals and occasions during the Awami League governance.”
