Bassmaster Elite Series Visits Pickwick March 18-21 Updated Mar 17, 2021; North Alabama anglers will get an opportunity to learn from some of the nation’s top bass anglers March 18-21 when the Bassmaster Elite Series comes to Pickwick Lake. Takeoff is daily at 6:45 a.m., weigh-ins at 3 p.m. at McFarland Park. Pro angler Brock Mosley believes current will play a prominent role in the event, and said he will be monitoring the Tennessee Valley Authority app regularly for water release schedules because of it. Water movement definitely benefits bass anglers, but too much of a good thing can become a not-so-good thing. As of early March, Pickwick Dam was releasing approximately 157,000 cubic feet per second a figure Mosley hopes to soon see tapering but heavy rains this week probably will trump that hope. ....
