RCMP stops speeding motorists, one clocked at 214 km/hr

An Estevan RCMP officer was conducting regular patrols on Highway 18 on Saturday, when he located two red cars traveling eastbound near Bienfait.
The two vehicles were traveling side by side on the two-lane, divided highway at a high rate of speed. The police officer captured one car traveling at 214 km/hr and the other car at 190 km/hr in the 110 km/hr speed zone.

Two men have been charged after they were allegedly speeding on a highway near Bienfait on Saturday.
According to an RCMP news release, an Estevan officer was patrolling Highway 18 when he saw two red cars travelling eastbound near Bienfait. The vehicles were travelling side by side on the two-lane highway. One vehicle was clocked at 214 kilometres-per-hour and the other at 190. The speed limit in the area is 110.

As a result, a 34-year-old Estevan man and 30-year-old Bienfait man were charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Both men are scheduled to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on June 14. ....

Fire crews battled two grass fires over several hours

Estevan Fire Chief Dale Feser thanked people who partook in battling the fire.
This particular fire s cause was possibly careless discarding of smoking material out of a window of a vehicle, as it occurred right in a roadway easement and spread into a field, Feser said.
