The total cases of COVID-19 in India have now mounted to 1,99,25,604, with 34,13,642 active cases, the data showed. The total death toll in the country is now at 2,18,959. A total of 15,71,98,207 people have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in India. India s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.

A total of 3,92,488 fresh COVID-19 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 1,95,57,457, the Union Health Ministry reported on Sunday.
