Anglo-Asian Mining had been waiting for decades. Since 1997, the company has held the rights, granted by Azerbaijan, to three gold deposits beyond its reach, in territories controlled by Armenians. In an October 27 press release it announced that it was looking forward to tapping its 300-square-kilometer Vejnali contract area, which had just been retaken by Azerbaijani troops: “Once secure, the company plans to immediately start work.” After the fighting ended, some two weeks later, Armenian troops handed back more gold-mining areas, including the Kelbajar region, home to one of the most productive gold mines in the Caucasus. ....

PASHA Bank has supported the initiative of âEquilibriumâ, Educational Movement of National Library of Georgia, to establish youth reading-hall in Tserovani.
Children and adolescents of Tserovani refugee settlement, will now be able to get to know the creative work of modern writers and deepen their knowledge.
âEquilibrium stands for providing villages with library books, internet, computers and recovering them. We are delighted to have PASHA Bank joining our initiative, especially for New Yearâs Day. On 31st of December, we brought books by newest publishing companies to children from Tserovani refugee settlement. This is a very important matter in many ways, and we are hoping for future collaboration,â â said Giorgi Kekelidze, Head of the National Library of Georgia. ....
