Lai, who is already behind bars for taking part in earlier protests, must now serve a total of 20 months after pleading guilty to organising an unlawful assembly on October 1, 2019.
All of them pleaded guilty this month to organizing the protest, which had been banned by the police and took place Oct. 1, Chinas National Day. As they led a march on Hong Kong Island, clashes broke out across the city in some of the worst protest violence that year.
