APPOINTED: New boss picked for Barrow AFC BARROW AFC have announced the appointment of Michael Jolley as the new First Team Manager. Jolley, 43, has been signed to a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Club, which includes a summer break clause. Born in Sheffield, he was most recently in charge at Grimsby Town. A Cambridge University graduate with a degree in Economics, Jolley’s career began with the Academies at Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest before taking a coaching role at Falkirk. After a spell as Head Coach of Stirling University, he moved back in to professional football in 2011 when he was appointed First Team Coach at Lincoln City. ....
Young Furness artists have taken centre stage in a family-inspired calendar produced by an Ulverston firm to lift spirits for 2021. JF Hornby and Co, based at Daltongate Business Centre, enlisted the children of its team members to create 12 stunning images for the company’s annual calendar. The company offers a suite of services including accountancy, tax and tax planning, corporate finance, payroll solution and cloud accounting. Hundreds of copies of the finished 2021 edition of the company calendar have now been shipped to Cumbria and beyond as efforts begin to start the year afresh and consign 2020 to the history books. Paul Hornby, managing director of JF Hornby and Co, which employs 50 members of staff, said: “There has been so much doom and gloom throughout 2020 that we wanted to focus on something positive and bright. ....
