Dundee dance teachers hope to help children step up their learning, thanks to a share of £150,000 of funding.
YDance (Scottish Youth Dance), the award-winning national dance organisation for children and young people in Scotland, has been awarded £150,000 from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation for Step It Up.
The programme will focus on teacher development across three areas in Scotland – Dundee, West Dunbartonshire, and Glasgow. ....

'What an advert for Pembrokeshire':National Theatre TEAM's Go Tell the Bees film is premiered


Pembrokeshire talent, faces and places are to feature on big screens this summer in the culmination of a project inspired by the Sea Empress disaster.
The film Go Tell the Bees, which recently had its premiere at Manorbier Castle, is the triumphant result of a four-year project driven by National Theatre Wales TEAM and involving the people of Pembrokeshire.
Co-created by Naomi Chiffi, Di Ford and Sita Thomas, it was funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Arts Council Wales, with the intention of creating a large-scale, live event to celebrate the project.
Although Coronavirus restrictions meant that plans needed to change, it was decided that the creation of a film would be the safest way to share the work, whilst still achieving the ambition of featuring as many people and places as initially hoped. ....

'Peaceophobia': The Immersive theatrical experience to be performed in a car park


Peaceophobia is a response to rising Islamophobia around the world. 
Part car-meet part-theatre, the show explores how you find peace in a world that tells you who you are. Growing up in the shadow of the Bradford Riots, 9/11 and police harassment, cars and faith are a sanctuary, an escape, an expression for three Muslim Pakistani men. Ali, Sohail and Casper are taking control of the narratives around their religion, their city, and their cars. 
Staged in a car park with a Supra, a Golf and a classic Nova, Peaceophobia brings together cars and theatre with cinematic lighting and an original electronic sound score.  ....
