SPARTA, Mo. (AP) Strong storms swept across parts of Missouri on Wednesday, flooding a popular state park and causing wind damage.
Live camera footage showed raging waters at Roaring River, a popular fishing destination 8 miles (12.87 kilometers) south of Cassville in Barry County, the Springfield News-Leader reports.
“This is a major, major flood today,” said Paul Spurgeon, Roaring River Hatchery manager. “We got about 3 inches in 40 minutes.”
The main concern is the hatchery building, which rests on the lowest area and is full of fingerlings, or baby trout.
“We’re trying to keep those guys going right now,” Spurgeon said.

Hail, some as big as baseballs, pummeled parts of Texas and Oklahoma Wednesday night, denting cars, shattering glass and, in at least one case, smashing through a home s roof.
The hail came from a line of severe storms that also triggered tornado warnings and caused flooding in Texas, Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
A hailstorm destroyed windows in Beth Van Horn s home in Norman, Oklahoma. Van Horn told KOCO she first thought a tornado was hitting because the storm was roaring so loudly.

Live camera footage showed raging waters at Roaring River following severe storms that swept the southwest region of Missouri Wednesday. This is a major, major flood today, said Paul Spurgeon, Roaring River Hatchery manager. We got about three inches in 40 minutes.
The canyon directly behind the fish hatchery pushed a wave of water and flushed through there pretty hard, Spurgeon said. It looked like it was still coming up, he added. When the water comes down and gets us from behind like that, it sweeps over the hatchery a little bit.
The main concern is the hatchery building, which rests on the lowest area and is full of fingerlings, or baby trout.
