A CORRESPONDENT HAFLONG: The CEM (Chief Executive Member) of NCHAC (North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council), Debolal Gorlosa distributed cheques of Rs. 2.5 lakh each to the widows, whose husbands died of COVID-19, under the Chief Minister s COVID-19 Widows Support Scheme. The cheques were given away in a function held at DC conference hall today along with Haflong LAC MLA, Nandita Gorlosa and Deputy Commissioner Paul Barua. Altogether two beneficiaries have been identified to benefit a financial support under this scheme in Dima Hasao district whose husbands died due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the norms of the scheme, the beneficiary should be a permanent resident of Assam, the beneficiary s husband should be a COVID-19 positive patient at the time of death and certified by the State level COVID Death Audit Board and belong to a low income family having an annual income upto 5 lakhs. ....
