Our awful roads need urgent attention
What is happening to the roads in Wisbech? Pressure must be put on Cambridgeshire Highways Department to step up and get the roads in Wisbech fit to drive on.
So many of our roads are now in an appalling and dangerous condition.
Potholes everywhere, which are spray painted yellow and then left for weeks on end to get ever bigger and more dangerous.
Even when they do repair a pothole, it is such a dismal effort, that on average it lasts a couple of weeks before it reappears again. People are having their cars, tyres and wheels damaged, leading to expensive repair bills through Cambridgeshire Highways Department’s failure to keep the roads in a roadworthy condition. ....

March engineer launches Covid vaccine fundraiser for NHS

Paul Tickner (right), known as Jimmy and wife Claire discussed the idea of helping donate the cost of a Covid-19 vaccine before setting up a fundraiser on social media.

An engineer who has helped raise hundreds of pounds for the NHS is urging more residents to donate once they have had the Covid-19 vaccine. 
Paul Tickner, of March, and his wife Claire launched the fundraiser for NHS Charities Together after discussing the idea of helping people to donate the cost of a vaccine if they felt they could afford one.  ....

A Parramatta man has been refused bail following an allegedly vicious attack on his 60-year-old mother at her western Sydney workplace, leaving her fighting for life.

A frail  60-year-old woman remains in a critical condition after she was allegedly bashed by her son in front of horrified work colleagues who armed themselves with mops and a squeegee. 
Luke Henry, 26, allegedly punched and kicked his mother Adelle Henry, before slamming her head on concrete, at a Mt Druitt Disability workshop, in Sydney s western suburbs, on Wednesday afternoon. 
Henry, who has been charged with domestic violence related offences over the alleged attack, told a court he had been released from a mental health facility just hours earlier. 
The 26-year-old, who is yet to enter a plea, appeared in Mr Druitt Local Court on Thursday, where his bail application to be released into a mental health facility was denied.  ....
