Attorney representing former Rock Haven employees speaks out

May 11, 2021 The Fitchburg attorney representing nearly a dozen former Rock Haven Nursing Home employees who were laid off after refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine is speaking out. Michael Anderson says the $500,000 notice of claim he’s filed is just a precursor to an actual lawsuit. Anderson says he’s hoping Rock County will enter into a dialogue with him and that they”ll be able to come to a resolution without going to court. Anderson says his clients are hardworking front line workers who are devoted to their jobs and they should have the right to make the decision about whether or not to get vaccinated about their own bodies.

Schole age 83 of Clinton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday March 14, 2021 after a short fight with pancreatic cancer at Rock Haven Nursing Home in Janesville, WI. She was born in Chippewa Falls, WI on December 20, 1937, the daughter and one of ten children of Herman and Alvina (Peters) Rose. Susan attended Chippewa Falls High School, class of 1955. She married Orlin Schole in 1958 and remained so until his death in 2019. In the yearly years of her marriage, Susan was a stay at home mom raising her two children. She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening and visiting with many friends. After her kids were grown, Susan joined the workforce and spent 20+ years working at Dairyland Seed Research Co. retiring in 2001.

Rock Haven employees fired for refusing COVID-19 vaccine now eyeing potential lawsuit March 10, 2021 5:57 PM Adam Duxter Updated: JANESVILLE, Wis. – Nearly two months after a number of Rock Haven Nursing Home employees were laid off for refusing to take a county-mandated Coronavirus vaccine, they, along with a lawyer are fighting for payback. Fitchburg-based attorney Michael Anderson says a staff member contacted him the moment they learned they’d be required to get a vaccine. “I look into it, and I very quickly determined that it’s not legal, and they can’t do it,” Anderson said.  “It’s an Emergency Use Authorization drug. There’s three of them now, but none are FDA approved, so it’s improper.”
