Colourful images come in the form of flora and fauna, curious wildlife and sweeping landscapes. Both John Gelson and John Mateey spotted the friendly wildlife such as a graceful swan on Mill Beck Pond, in Norton and a wandering pheasant in Westow. Other readers have had their focus drawn to the changing landscapes around us. Barbara Balf spotted a stream of daffodils in Helmsley and Kerry Megginson captured a sprinkling of snowdrops near Easthorpe. Nick Fetcher, George Tremain and Richard Horsman admired the vibrant flowers on offer in Ryedale. THIS week’s selection of readers’ photographs are showcasing the emerging season in Ryedale. A picture of a friendly farm animal never fails to make you smile, and this sheep taken by George Tremain in Rosedale certainly knows its best angle. Similarly, a highland cow captured by Sharon Marwood in Lastingham certainly knows how to strike a pose. Meanwhile, Daniel Medelete and Andrew Robinson have submitted two great pictures capturing on camera our beautiful surroundings. For Daniel it was a view of Castle Howard, and for Andrew a sunrise over Crambe. Speaking of beautiful surroundings, Louise Sturdy captured a gang of sheep taking a break in Ampleforth. ....
