Updated 5/14/2021 8:58 AM The Hanover Township Office of Community Health is offering free blood pressure screenings throughout May as part of National High Blood Pressure Education Month. High blood pressure, or hypertension, is often referred to as the silent killer because many people experience no symptoms and are unaware they have a condition, said Kristen Smith, director of Community Health. We encourage residents, especially those with a family history of hypertension, to come to the Township and take advantage of a free screening. ....
Updated 5/14/2021 8:48 AM Hanover Township is joining the Administration for Community Living in celebrating May as Older Americans Month. More than 12,100 older adults reside in the township, according to census.gov. In honor of the celebration, the township will host free fitness classes at the Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett, the week of May 25 to promote physical fitness among older adults. Programs include in-person yoga, outdoor in-person yoga, virtual yoga, in-person senior exercise and virtual senior exercise. Registration is required.
Township older adults are invited to attend an outdoor concert with Bob Kalal May 18. Kalal performs a variety of songs ranging from rock, pop, jazz, blues and Dixieland. Registration is required. The concert will be held outdoors, weather permitting, at the Senior Center. ....

Two remain hospitalized with injuries from deadly Bartlett crash
Updated 4/5/2021 3:07 PM Bartlett police confirmed Monday that a 19-year-old Round Lake man killed in a crash Friday morning was driving the SUV that veered into oncoming traffic on Route 59 and collided with another vehicle. Milton Munoz Jr. and his 18-year-old passenger were ejected from the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer after the collision with a 2012 Volkswagen Passat in a northbound lane of Route 59 near the overpass to Lake Street, authorities said.
Munoz was pronounced dead later Friday morning. His passenger was taken to Amita St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with life-threatening injuries, then later transferred to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he remained Monday, police said. ....
