CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - School districts and businesses in the WBTV viewing area are reporting closings due to a winter storm expected to hit the area Friday.
Among those reporting closings, delays and cancellations include:
Alexander County Schools - Remote Learning Day Friday
Alexander County Schools will operate with a remote instructional day tomorrow due to forecast weather conditions. Students and staff will not report to the school buildings but will work remotely from home. MUMBAI India’s elderly population is at increased risk of death because of rising temperatures as a result of climate change, a new report states.
The country recorded an estimated 31,000 heat-related deaths among people over age 65 in 2018, according to the The Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change, which tracks 43 indicators on links between health and climate change. India, with nearly 62,000 heat-related deaths, ranked second after China. ....
