Schools in Port Barre no longer on lockdown, suspect in custody

Lock downs at several schools in Port Barre have been lifted following a threat made by an individual on Thursday morning.
Port Barre Police say that on May 13, 2021 at around 7:45 AM Port Barre Police Department received a call from the Port Barre high school of a possible school threat. Port Barre high school, Port Barre elementary, Port Barre Headstart and Montessori schools were placed on lock down.
Law-enforcement from Louisiana State Police, Opelousas City Police, St. Landry Parish Sheriffs Office and Port Barre Police secured the schools and provided perimeter patrols.

BARRE, Vt. Ralph Jean-Marie, 38, was last seen on April 13, 2020, near the Hollow Inn & Motel where he was living with his girlfriend and did not have his glasses, prescription medications or wallet when he disappeared. He was reported missing by a friend more than 60 hours after he disappeared. The Barre Police Department continues to offer a $5,000 reward for information about his disappearance.
