PKR s Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said he is one of five opposition MPs to have received an RM10 million letter of demand from the Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan (YWP) over a press conference held by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) which detailed a conflict of interest within its management.
He said the letter of demand concerned the findings of the PAC report which was presented at a press conference held in Parliament on Nov 18, 2020, in response to the Report of the Approximate Committee titled ′′Land Sales of Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Federal Territories Ministry. . ....

Tories Call out Feds for Failing to Decide on Huawei, Counter CCP Interference
Tories called out Ottawa for failing to decide whether Huawei should be banned from participating in Canada’s 5G network, and developing a plan to combat Beijing’s growing foreign interference on Canadian soil.
Conservative Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs Michael Chong issued a statement Monday criticizing the Liberal government for not responding to a motion passed in Parliament on Nov. 18 that requires the government to “make a decision on Huawei’s involvement in Canada’s 5G network and to introduce a robust plan to counter China’s foreign interference operations here in Canada, both within 30 days.”  ....

Conservatives criticize Liberal government for not taking action
Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne fired back at Beijing for criticizing Ottawa’s efforts in building an international alliance to free Canadians Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor from Chinese prisons.
In an interview with the Canadian Press this week, Champagne said he would do what he thinks is best for Canada’s interest and would not follow Beijing’s instructions. 
“I’ll take no lessons from anyone, and certainly not from China when it comes to defending and standing up for values and principles and defending Canadian interests and defending Michael Kovrig and Spavor,” Champagne said.  ....

Budget 2021 passed successfully


KUALA LUMPUR: It was a nail-biting end which saw Budget 2021 finally passed in the Dewan Rakyat despite a last-ditch effort by the opposition to derail it through a bloc vote.
The RM322.5bil Budget, the largest in the nation’s history, was passed when 111 voted aye while 108 said nay with one absentee.
There was drama at the end of the committee stage when Pokok Sena MP Datuk Mahfuz Omar stood up to call for a bloc vote right after Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz stood up to move a motion to table the Budget for the third and final reading.Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun then ordered the House bell to be rung for two minutes. The House then waited for 10 minutes for all MPs to come in before the bell was rung again to indicate the commencement of voting. ....
