Aimed at assisting local artists and creatives in accessing Creative Europe funding, the Creative Europe Desk in Malta is bolstering its operations to serve as a focal point for further engagement with the local industry and to serve as a bridge between local artist and their European counterparts.
Addressing a press conference about the Desk’s upcoming events and initiatives, Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government José Herrera stated that the upcoming Creative Europe 2021-2027 has increased its funding to €2.4 billion for the upcoming 7-year period. But the mainstream movie industry hasn t always treated Native American stories fairly or authentically.
If you look at Native representation in history, it s been pretty bad. So, almost showing any truthful, real version of Native people is humanizing. . Little Chief, a narrative short film directed by indigenous filmmaker Erica Tremblay (Seneca-Cayuga) had its world premiere as part of the Shorts Selection at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. Tremblay is original from Oklahoma and lensed the short in Oklahoma. The short film stars Lily Gladstone, left and Julian Ballentyne.

The winners of the 2020 American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Student Heritage Awards were named Saturday night (February 27) during a virtual presentation. Three student filmmakers were chosen for demonstrating exceptional cinematography skills in their submitted work.
ASC cinematographers Paul Atkins, Tommy Maddox-Upshaw and David Stockton presented the awards alongside ASC President Stephen Lighthill, Student Awards Co-Chairs Craig Kief and Armando Salas, and Sony’s Manager of Digital Cinema Camera Sales and Business Development Daniel Perry. Known for opposing the loss of historically important buildings, London’s heritage community wants to also be known for what it supports.
The 2021 London Heritage Awards were doled out by two groups in the city, giving credit to projects that were done right, said Susan Bentley, a local heritage activist.
