After almost a month of break, Gilas Pilipinas will resume its practice session inside a bubble training camp in preparation for the third window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers this June in Pampanga.
The national team halted its training camp after the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) called on the athletes to stop all training as the government implemented the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila and nearby provinces late last month.
Upon the approval of Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) president Al Panlilio, Gilas will re-enter the bubble at the Inspire Sports Academy Monday, April 26, in Calamba, Laguna.

Calvin Oftana believes he’ll be able to adopt quickly to the system of coach Yeng Guiao as he prepares for his maiden PBA campaign with the NLEX Road Warriors.
The No. 3 pick in the recent PBA Rookie Draft feels that his experiences with the likes of Tab Baldwin, Jong Uichico and Boyet Fernandez will help a great deal now he’s set to get some pointers from Guiao.
“Hindi naman siguro mahirap mag-adjust kasi I’ve been with so many good coaches like sina Coach Boyet, Coach Tab and Coach Jong (I don’t think I’ll have a hard time adjusting since I’ve been with so many good coaches like Coach Boyet, Coach Tab and Coach Jong),” said Oftana in a recent interview with One Sports’ The Game.

VICTORIOUS were Calvin Abueva and Ian Sangalang the last time they teamed up outside of San Sebastian as they steered NLEX to the 2012 PBA D-League Foundation Cup.
It was nine years ago when the Cabalen duo, then playing for the Road Warriors in the developmental ranks, steamrolled the competition and completed a perfect 13-0 season, capped off by a two-game sweep of Big Chill in the Finals.
NLEX effectively cemented its dynasty in the newly formed league, winning its third crown in as many conferences.
But the Road Warriors winning the championship in this tourney shouldn t really come as a surprise. After all, they didn t just have Abueva and Sangalang, but also had a bevy of bluechip talents in the amateur ranks.
