Fortescue community grants now open for applications
Grants of up to $5,000 are now available for community organisations in the Pilbara, under the latest round of Fortescue Metals Group’s (Fortescue) community grants program.
The biannual program provides funding to support projects within the Town of Port Hedland, Shires of East Pilbara and Ashburton and City of Karratha with a focus on education and training, Aboriginal engagement, health and wellbeing, safety and community involvement, economic development and environmental responsibility.
Hedland Snake Removal is a not-for-profit organisation based in Port Hedland, which is run by a dedicated group of eight locals who volunteer their time and resources. The group received funding in September 2020 to assist with their work in the community.
