Genevieve to begin work on the remodel of the police department and city hall basement. The final price tag for construction will be $298,914, which comes as a $14,539 reduction from the originally accepted bid. City administrator Happy Welch noted the current building has a good, stable foundation. Elected officials and city leaders agreed that was important investing in the current structure – rather than moving or beginning new construction elsewhere. “This is something that will last the city 50 years,” Welch added. ....

Genevieve County Health Department administrator Jennifer Mueller to appear before the board of aldermen. Mueller met with both city leaders and elected officials during last Thursday’s regularly scheduled session her first appearance in her new capacity. “We finally have some of the vaccine,” Mueller said during the city’s regular bi-monthly discussions regarding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. In a joint effort of Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) and the health department, 900 shots of Moderna vaccine have been administered in the past two days at the Progress Sports Complex. ....
The former lumberyard on Central Avenue in Northwood will now be known as The Timbers â Northwood s Event Center. Lisa Grouette The multi-year transformation of a former lumberyard into a community events center in downtown Northwood is nearly complete. The Timbers â Northwoodâs Event Center at 512 Central Ave. will host its first event, a dance recital, on Sunday. âThank you to the community, (Worth County Development Authority) and the city for all their support and all the major donations,â said Amber Julseth, Northwood city administrator/city clerk, who is on the committee that oversees The Timbersâ operations. âWeâre anxious to open just as much as they are.â ....
