Letter: Gaston commissioners acting childish in feud with The Gazette Virginia Pardue Recently it was noted in The Gazette the Gaston County commissioners, after spending $3,600 of taxpayer money on attorney fees, have dropped the lawsuit against The Gazette. If you are unfamiliar with this story, you can read about it in detail online by searching for County dropping suit against The Gazette dated Dec. 22. To summarize, The Gazette wrote an article concerning how the commissioners handled $400,000 in workers compensation funds. Apparently the commissioners did not care for the article and decided behind closed doors to sue. The suit was eventually dropped, but the commissioners (once again behind closed doors) decided to find a new newspaper of record for legal publications which will potentially deprive The Gazette of $70-100K in annual revenue. ....
