Call for shuttle bus to be introduced in Evesham while roadworks take place


MEMBERS of the Mid-Worcestershire and Vale Green Party have called for a shuttle bus and bike hire scheme to be introduced to help residents access the town centre while the Port Street roadworks are taking place in Evesham.
Work got underway earlier this month to make improvements to Port Street and at the Waterside/Port Street Junction, as part of county council’s plan to relieve congestion in the town centre.
A letter addressed to Worcestershire County Council has been signed by Bob Rhodes, candidate for Evesham South County division and Ed Cohen, Wychavon Councillor for Evesham South District Ward. ....

So many local musicians are missing the stage and performing, especially this holiday season. Somerset Collection is thrilled to support Detroit musicians by holding the Tune Into Somerset Collection contest. Launched the day before Thanksgiving and open through Dec 3, musicians submitted videos of themselves playing their instruments to ClickOnDetroit.
The Somerset Collection has chosen its winners who will receive $2,500 each and perform during the holidays for mallgoers!
In the holiday spirit, Somerset Collection also donated $2,500 in each of the winners’ names to Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, an organization that helps feed and house the homeless. Additionally, Somerset loved all the entries so much that they’re even giving $50 gift cards to all those who submitt ....

Much recognition was given at this week s Effingham City Council meeting.
Janet Ohnesorge of the Water Billing and Customer Service Department was recognized as the City s Employee of the Quarter. 
(CITY OFFICER JEREMY KYLE WITH HIS LIFESAVING AWARD)
Police Chief Jason McFarland presented a Lifesaving Award to Officer Jeremy Kyle, who utilized Narcan on December 2 to bring back a subject under the influence of alcohol and another drug. McFarland said the ambulance attendant who arrived to help said Kyle saved the person s life. Kyle and Officer Andrew Meyers were also presented Customer Service Awards for help they offered to motorists traveling through Effingham. The officers freed a two-year-old from a locked vehicle, gave the two-year-old and her sibling toys, and fascinated the sibling with Kyle s ....
