Neither is a sustainable wage for working families here in Erie who are just trying to make ends meet. I worked as a housekeeper for 11 years. If you’ve ever worked in that field, you know it isn’t easy or unskilled. There are no benefits and the pay is low. During that time my wage went up, but it never brought my family out of poverty. Even with a second job, I still qualified for food stamps and medical assistance. ....
