By Associated Press MADISON, Wis. Firefighters are battling a large wildfire in Menomonee Falls Wisconsin. Officials ask that roads near the fire be avoided. Officials warned that a combination of snow melting earlier than usual, low humidity and high winds would cause very high danger across the state this weekend. By Adam Duxter Apr 2, 2021 9:49 PM MADISON, Wis. – Despite Public Health Madison Dane County’s latest health order lifting limits and mask requirements for outdoor gatherings, some local traditions and events could still be months away. “What we want is a smart restart, a slow reopening,” said Tiffany Kenney, Executive Director of the Madison Central Business Improvement District. “We know those organizers, when they’re ready, they can have safe events, they’ll bring them back. This order just helps them along the way making those decisions.” Kenney says one hold up for events like the Dane County Farmers Market and outdoor concerts is a lack of permit, which it could take another two weeks to obtain. ....
WASHINGTON– Biden announced on Saturday that flags will be flown at half-staff until sunset Tuesday out of respect for the Capitol attack victims. MADISON, Wis. — The total vaccine doses administered exceeded 3 million on Saturday, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. A total of 3,043,564 doses have been administered to date with more than 65,000 in the last day. Almost 20% of the population, 1,149,956 people, have completed the vaccine series.
