Hendersonville council approves apartments, medical facility, Pardee parking improvements Hendersonville City Council Thursday unanimously approved three housing and medical facility developments. An 84-unit apartment development on Duncan Hill Road and a two-story medical office building on Fleming Street will be built. Improvements to the flow of traffic at the entrance to Pardee Hospital will also be made and around 100 parking spaces added on the property. Council spent nearly four hours of its meeting in public hearings about the projects. Duncan Terrace Apartments The development will include seven three-story, 12-unit apartment buildings on 8.6 acres. There will be 15 one-bedroom apartments, 48 with two bedrooms and 21 with three bedrooms. ....
Board recommends rezoning for Duncan Hill Road apartments The Hendersonville Planning Board unanimously recommended City Council rezone property that would allow a proposed apartment development on Duncan Hill Road to move forward. At the same meeting earlier this week, the board didn t make a recommendation on a proposal to add more parking spaces at Pardee Hospital. If approved, the apartment development would include seven three-story, 12-unit buildings on 8.6 acres. There would be 15 one-bedroom, 48 two-bedroom and 21 three-bedroom apartments. There would also be a gazebo, playgrounds and a community center. A community center would house the office, laundry facility and a computer lab. All areas of the development would be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. ....
A proposed 84-unit apartment development, called Duncan Terrace, off Duncan Hill Road wasn t met with any opposition during a neighborhood compatibility meeting Friday. The city received an application for a conditional rezoning of the property from low-density residential district to planned residential development conditional zoning district in December. The request is from Bobby Funk with Mills Construction Co. in Raleigh, Green Holdings LLC and North Main Street Properties of Hendersonville LLC. The property currently has a vacant house on it and is wooded. Funk gave an overview of the project via Zoom at the compatibility meeting. Only one city resident commented to ask questions about the development including its impact on traffic in the area. ....
