Turkey’s Vuran tactical wheeled armored vehicle integrated with a new multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) hit its target in a test firing. Ismail Demir, the head of Defense Industries Presidency, said in a Twitter post Thursday that the rockets were fired with the 107 mm MLRS developed by Roketsan with the cooperation of Mechanical and Chemical Industry Company (MKEK). The MLRS is capable of firing 12 rockets at a time. The BMC Vuran mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP)-categorized vehicle protects critical points and facilities, and can be used for patrolling between police stations and provides physical border security. It is a smaller version of BMC Kirpi. While the Kirpi is capable of carrying 12 people, Vuran can accommodate nine.

Stating that the current problems between Turkey and the US differed from the occasional tensions since the 1960s, Aybet said Turkey emerged as a power that changed the realities on the ground at a time when global power balances were shifting.
