(KRDO) The El Paso County Sheriff s Office is investigating what led to a woman s death after she was found following a house fire early Monday morning in Security. The fire happened around 2:30 a.m. on Cypress Drive, which is south of Colorado Springs. EPCSO says deputies and the Security Fire Department responded and found large flames and smoke coming out of the residence. Neighboring homes were evacuated while the fire burned. Once the house was safe to enter, EPCSO says firefighters found the woman inside.

(KRDO) - No one was hurt after a fire broke out in Security early Tuesday. The Security Fire Department went to the 6900 block of Weeping Willow Drive around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday for reports of a fire and what sounded like an explosion in someone’s home. Fire officials said the fire started in the garage. At one point, the flames were around 60 feet tall, but 90 percent of the fire was contained to the garage.

Security firefighters on scene told our News5 crew that the home off Harvard Street is a total loss due to extensive damage with no injuries reported. The department responded after receiving the call around 3:20 a.m. Deputies were on scene almost instantaneously, and reported heavy fire through the roof of the original structure with extension to the houses on both sides, Battalion Chief James Chapman with the Security Fire Department said.
