U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents arrested a man on Wednesday who arrived at the State Route (SR) 94 checkpoint with a loaded revolver. Agents seized this gun that was being carried by an inadmissible alien. Wednesday, agents assigned to the SR-94 checkpoint were conducting checkpoint operations when a white Nissan Altima approached the primary inspection area. During this immigration inspection, a search was conducted on the passenger which resulted in the discovery of a loaded 22-caliber handgun in one of the man’s pockets. ....

Andrew Cuomo announced that cinemas across the five boroughs could reopen starting next month, a potential reprieve for a sector of the entertainment industry that’s been walloped by the coronavirus pandemic. Nicolaou owns three theaters in the city Cinema Village in Manhattan, Alpine Theatre in Brooklyn and Cinemart Cinemas in Queens. Due to damage from frozen pipes, he doesn’t expect those venues to reopen until April 2. When he can reignite the marquee lights, his locations will be running at 25% capacity, or 50 people per auditorium which means it will be nearly impossible to make money. Andrew Cuomo has given movie theaters in New York City permission to reopen at limited capacity starting on March 5. During his daily press briefing, the Empire State leader said cinemas in the city will be permitted to operate at 25% capacity, with no more than 50 people. Moreover, other safety measures such as masks, social distancing and heightened sanitizing measures will be required. Last October, New York venues outside of the city were allowed to reopen with similar restrictions. ....
