A couple of weeks ago I’m riding my bicycle on the roadway known as the Loop in Ormond Beach when I see a car coming. A car headed toward me in the wrong lane. I figure he ll swerve back into place, but no, he isn t. In fact, he s speeding up as though aiming for me. I veer off the road, heart pumping, as he screams past. Just another day riding on the Loop road. The driver was in the wrong lane because he was passing multiple cars. His concentration was on the cars he was passing, so he likely never noticed I was there. I was taking things personally in believing he wanted to kill me. I tend to think people are trying to kill me every time I get on the road. It s something that explains Florida driver behavior to me. ....
