'Disgraceful' Lacock criminal targeted woman, 83

A “DISGRACEFUL” criminal with a history of targeting elderly and vulnerable victims in distraction burglaries stole an 83-year-old woman’s savings.
Thomas Sykes was blasted by a judge who jailed him for five years after he preyed on her and barged his way into her home in Wales.
The notorious defendant has made national headlines in the past following a series of vile offences against senior citizens across the country.
Abigail Jackson, prosecuting, told how Sykes, from Lacock, has previously conned his way into homes by posing as a gardener and a council worker.

Blaina thug jailed for attacking ex and police officer


His latest offending stemmed from an incident on April 30, 2020 after his former partner went to live with him when she became homeless.
Miss Jackson told Cardiff Crown Court how Gill was subject to a restraining order at the time preventing him from having any contact with her.

Oklahoma inmates are experiencing their own version of pandemic fatigue.
The Corrections Department has limited inmate movement and enforced a mask mandate for staff members and prisoners since April. A systemwide lockdown prompted by gang fights at the three male prisons in late November has added an additional layer of restrictions over the past several weeks.
A successful COVID-19 vaccination effort could reduce cases and deaths and allow the return of family visitation and in-person classes. Shipments of the vaccine should start arriving at prisons, jails and other congregate living facilities by the end of the month, state deputy health commissioner Keith Reed told Oklahoma Watch in an email. ....
