A renowned human rights activist has warned Pakistani Christians against publicly supporting Israel and provoking a backlash from Muslims as tensions flare between Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli military.
“Irrespective of your religious teachings, remember that as citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, your first loyalty is with the state, which doesn’t recognize Israel as a state. Showing such allegiance can cause you to stumble,” said Mary James Gill, director of the Center for Law and Justice, in a notification issued on May 12. ....

04/25/2021 Pakistan (International Christian Concern) – According to Mission Network News, Christians in Pakistan are concerned they will be the targets of religiously motivated violence following days of protest by supporters of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
TLP supporters took to the streets in protest after the government arrested Khadim Hussain Rizvi, the party’s founder and leader. The conflict between the TLP, which believes anyone accused of blasphemy should be put to death, and the government stems from a demand that the French ambassador should be expelled from the country over statements made by French officials TLP leaders found to be blasphemous. ....

Two years ago, while speaking on the occasion to mark 100 days of his government being in office, Prime Minister Imran Khan made many a boast and promises. Besides waxing eloquent on turning Pakistan into a 
“model Islamic welfare state,” he also hit out at his Indian counterpart by saying, 
“We will show the Modi government how to treat minorities.” Unfortunately, despite this bold assurance, instances of atrocities against minorities in Pakistan have increased many fold under Khan’s watch.
