InMaricopa The Copper Sky Dog Park would relocate to a different part of the park if the city sells 13 acres to a developer. Google Maps City council on Tuesday night discussed the sale of about 12 acres of land, including the dog park at Copper Sky, for possible development of an Innovation Center. The property, situated along the east side of John Wayne Parkway, between the new La Quinta hotel and Palo Brea, would be developed by Copper Sky Innovation Group LLC, a company whose principals are also developing four acres at the southeast corner of John Wayne Parkway and Bowlin Road as a hospital. ....
InMaricopa For the second time in a week, the tail of a Wild Horse has been broken. This time it appears the appendage is missing from the statue. RELATED STORIES The artwork by artist Kimberly Mask, titled “Copper Turquoise Skies,” is installed outside of Maricopa Elementary School. It was sponsored by the Be Awesome Coalition. On Sunday afternoon, the piece of art was spotted without its tail. It is not know when the actual damage occurred. Last week, the tail was broken off “Celestial,” a Wild Horse statue on display at the Copper Sky Recreation Complex. It is the work of local artist Bonnie Del Turco and sponsored by the Ray Nieves Family. Del Turco repaired the damage. ....
