KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 Sarawak and Pahang have totally recovered from floods this evening, while the situation in Sabah continues to improve with a drop in flood evacuees at relief centres.
In Sarawak, the last relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tanah Puteh in Serian district was closed at 2 pm today.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said in its latest report that all 309 evacuees were the last group in the relief centre to return home.

Kuala Lumpur: Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) need to obtain permission from the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) or the District Disaster Management Committee (JPBD) in order to resume their relief missions in flood affected areas.
The setting of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aim to prevent situations where too many NGOs go to flooded areas and can cause the spread of Covid-19 infection.

PETALING JAYA, Jan 13 Preacher Ebit Lew has been actively reaching out to provide aid to flood victims since the disaster hit several parts of Malaysia.
On one of his relief missions in Pahang, Lew met a rather familiar face, as he chanced upon the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah in Temerloh.
Lew uploaded an image of himself standing beside Sultan Abdullah and Crown Prince of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah today, as he spoke of how proud he was to meet the King.

KUANTAN, Jan 10 During the 13 years of operating heavy dumper trucks in mining activities, Sadri Asreil Sahair never thought his services would be needed to “mine” for flood victims.
Sadri Asreil, 35, said the rescue operation for the flood victims started last Monday after the police in Lipis, about 213 kilometres from here, asked for the help of his heavy machinery, dubbed “King Kong” to rescue flood victims due to rising floodwaters.

The aid includes large quantities of medical and food supplies, and shelter materials.
The UAE has provided urgent humanitarian aid to those affected by the floods that swept the state of Pahang, Malaysia.
The move is in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The aid includes large quantities of medical and food supplies, and shelter materials. The first phase of the aid programme that is implemented by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) will benefit more than 50,000 people.
