Buhari Swaps Heads Of Agencies Under Humanitarian Affairs Ministry

President Muhammadu Buhari has swapped the positions of two Heads of Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
Sen. Basheer Garba Mohammed will now become the Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
While Mrs Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim who was the former DG of NAPTIP will now take over the affairs of Federal Commissioner for the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
Senator Mohammed was the Honourable Federal Commissioner for the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
President Muhammadu Buhari approved the swapping of positions in a statement on Thursday. ....

He said the rejig seeks to realize and sustain government’s abiding desire for effective and efficient service delivery in the two organisations.
Mrs. Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, the current Director-General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) takes over from Basheer Garba Mohammed as Federal Commissioner National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
Mohammed, a former Senator, becomes the new Director-General of NAPTIP.
The President further directed that the changes be effected after comprehensive handover notes to successors. ....

Consequently, the statement further stated that Bashir Mohammed, the NCRMI National Commissioner takes over as NAPTIP DG.
The statement further said the reshuffle was in order to realise and sustain government’s abiding desire for effective and efficient service delivery in the two organisations.
The new NCRMI federal commissioner was appointed as the head of NAPTIP after her predecessor, Julie Okah-Donli, was axed. She assumed office in December.
A politician and businesswoman, Mrs Suleiman-Ibrahim’s had served as a special adviser on strategic communication to the minister of state for education before her appointment last year.

FOR Baraka Saidu who is among the over 27,000 peasants who were displaced by bandits in the Birnin Gwari communities, life has been very difficult in recent years following the spate of attacks unleashed on the area by bandits and kidnappers in Birnin Gwari axis of the Kaduna State.
While narrating her plight to journalists at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House Kaduna, Saidu thanked God for sparing her life despite the various invasions of the area by daredevils who killed or kidnapped family members, friends and relatives, and destroyed their home, in many cases leaving nothing behind in the process. ....

Buhari Approves Repatriation of Refugees in Cameroon, Niger, Chad

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the gradual return of Nigerian refugees in Cameroon, Niger and Chad to the country from February 27, 2021.
The Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Senator Basheer Garba Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement yesterday.
Mohammed said that the commission has commenced work on construction of massive housing units to resettle displaced persons under a project tagged the “IDPs Resettlement Cities,” that consisted of 600 units of two-bedroom bungalows each in the selected states.
The houses will be furnished and equipped with facilities for education, worship, skills acquisition and farmlands among others. ....
