E-Cabinet platform launch marks a key milestone in govt’s digital transformation journey NASSAU, BAHAMAS Digital transformation continues to be PwC’s core focus to help organizations adopt the technology needed to work smarter and more efficiently to better serve customers. With the launch this month of the government’s new Bahamas Electronic Cabinet Management Information System (BECMIS), also referred to as the E-Cabinet digital platform, PwC Bahamas helped the government position itself as a digital leader in the Caribbean. The firm was commissioned to develop an innovative, online workflow-based system to improve the business operations of the Cabinet and create a fast, secure and robust internal system to manage Cabinet procedures. ....
Mike Bynoe, PwC East Caribbean Territory Leader hands over a cheque for US$80,000 on Thursday (6 May) to Elizabeth Riley, CDEMA Executive Director to help support relief efforts in St Vincent. PwC in the Caribbean and the PwC Charitable Foundation have collectively donated over US$100,000 to disaster relief and recovery efforts in St Vincent and the Grenadines. On 9 April 2021, the La Soufriere volcano erupted, sending ash and gas plumes miles into the sky and affecting neighbouring islands. The disaster has displaced about 20,000 people and left the population of 110,000 people without clean drinking water or electricity. PwC firms operating in the Caribbean contributed a total of $70,000. The funds were raised by the partners and staff of PwC firms in The Bahamas, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, East Caribbean (Barbados and St. Lucia), Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. ....
The St Kitts Nevis Observer A new survey indicates that many economic chiefs in the Caribbean believe global economic growth will improve in 2021. Sixty-nine percent of Caribbean business leaders are optimistic about the growth of the global economy this year, while 67 percent of them cite cyber threats as the number one concern. Oddly, the pandemic is in third place with 61 percent concerned. These were among the findings of PwC’s 24th Global CEO Survey which polled 5,050 CEOs in 100 countries and territories in January and February 2021. CEOs from The Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago were included in the survey. ....
