CBIC notifies changes in GST refund policy, revocation of cancelled registration

Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Custom (CBIC) has notified changes in GST refund policy and revocation of cancellation of registration rules. Experts feel that these changes will give some relief to GST assesses.
Based on the notification, now refund application can be withdrawn at any time prior to issuance of refund provisional/final/payment/withhold/ rejection order. Some changes have been made in the procedure of withheld refund. The withheld refund can be released after the satisfaction of the proper officer or Commissioner.

Jaipur, April 9 : Beating the Covid pandemic blues, the Rajasthan Housing Board earned a record revenue of Rs 2,621 crore in the last 18 months, thus setting up an example of reviving a dead unit besides attracting the attention of other states/UT, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Puducherry, which have expressed their desire to study the revival model adopted by the RHB by using unconventional means and thinking out of the box.
Recently, a 10-member team from the Agra Development Authority came to Jaipur to study how the housing board was revived amid the tough pandemic period.

Four states and a union territory Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry are either in the middle of their multi-phased Assembly elections or gearing up for elections. The Enforcement Directorate has arrested one accused in connection with the alleged illegal mining and theft of coal in West Bengal.
The accused has been identified as Vikas Mishra, brother of a TMC youth wing leader Vinay Mishra. The agency arrested him in Delhi under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. He was produced before a court that remanded him to six-day custody of the ED.

New Delhi, March 17 : The arrest of Trinamool Congress youth leader Vinai Mishra s brother Vikas Mishra by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) may spell more trouble for the ruling party in the poll-bound West Bengal, as the agency s probe has put the proceeds of crime to the tune of Rs 1,300 crore.
The ED arrested Vikas Mishra from Delhi on Tuesday following which a court sent him to the agency s custody for six days. The ED probe is based on an FIR registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the illegal coal smuggling case.
