Blue Run Spirits Showcases A 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon Blue Run Spirits Showcases A 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon Blue Run Spirits’ latest award-winning offering, a new 14-year-old small-batch bourbon, is now available at select retailers in the U.S. The small-batch bourbon won the Best Small Batch Bourbon – 11 Years & Older award at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, along with a Double Gold Medal. Blue Run 13.5-Year-Old Single Barrel Bourbon was awarded Best Single Barrel Bourbon – 11 Years & Older, as well as a Double Gold Medal. Blue Run’s Rye Whiskey, an upcoming fall release, received a Gold Medal. The barrels that made up this limited, small-batch Bourbon were approved by Jim Rutledge, Blue Run’s “Liquid Advisor” and one time master distiller at Four Roses. I’m sure most of us have heard of the mint julep, a bourbon-based cocktail associated with the American South and the Kentucky Derby. During the Civil War and up until 1920s, the mint julep was the drink of choice and Tom Bullock made one of the best around.
