Blenheim runner shows real spirit to gift away Old Ghost Ultra award

Emily Marfell receiving medical attention at the completion of the Old Ghost Ultra marathon.
After some reflection, Marfell said: “I have decided to give the $500 to the Marlborough Youth Trust Cactus programme, as it s about working together and having a physical challenge that gives you some confidence.”
Marfell added that she thought this was appropriate as it encompassed the spirit of the race.
“It’s a privilege to have a chance to do it, and it’s such a cool experience, because the people around you are all there for the right reasons and everybody’s having a challenging day and everybody supports each other.” ....

Growing up in a Jewish family, there were really only two ambitions that were had for me.
