May is National Preservation Month and the Palm Coast Historical Society is ready to celebrate. We are excited to announce our Inaugural E-bike History Tour which will highlight significant locations in Palm Coast’s early development.
Palm Coast resident and local FLEBIKE store owner Frank Paccilli is sponsoring and guiding the E-bike Tour of the “Core Area” of Palm Coast on Sunday, May 23 from 2 – 4:30 pm (weather permitting) to benefit the Palm Coast Historical Society and Museum.
PCHS is accepting reservations and payment for 16 individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis on its website www.palmcoasthistory.org. ....

An 18-year-old died in a crash Wednesday morning on Old Kings Road. (WJXT)
An 18-year-old woman died Wednesday morning when her Toyota Camry collided with a pick-up truck on Old Kings Road, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
Police said the Camry was likely traveling at an “extremely high rate of speed when the driver lost control” at a place where the road bends slightly just south of Thomas Road, a little over 2 miles from where Old Kings Road connects to New Kings Road.
The crash was reported about 7:45 a.m. and Lt. Rich Buoye, commanding officer of JSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit, said weather conditions were not a factor. ....

May is National Preservation Month, and the Palm Coast Historical Society is ready to celebrate. The Inaugural E-bike History Tour will highlight significant locations in Palm Coast’s early development.
Palm Coast resident and local FLEBIKE store owner Frank Paccilli is sponsoring and guiding the E-bike Tour of the “core area” of Palm Coast from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 23 (weather permitting), to benefit the Palm Coast Historical Society and Museum.
PCHS is accepting reservations and payment for 16 individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis on its website www.palmcoasthistory.org.
The special Preservation Month price is $29.99 per person and includes the E-bike rental, helmet and guided tour. Pacilli is donating 100% of the cost of the bike rental and guided excursion to the Historical Society. ....

After locals express concerns, planning board votes 7-0 against proposed duplex development

Contravening the recommendation of the city s planning staff, the city of Palm Coast s planning board voted unanimously April 21 against a rezoning that would have allowed for the construction of a duplex community on Old Kings Road.
The board s decision followed public comment by more than a dozen residents of the neighboring Toscana and Hidden Lakes communities to the east.
It’s our strong belief that duplex zoning will cause excessive traffic, noise, demand on infrastructure and devalue our beautiful single-family homes.
