95-year-old Aussie man becomes world s oldest backpacker
10th May 2012 9:18am | By Editor
With 23 countries and 109 cities under his belt, 95-year-old Keith Wright is the world’s oldest backpacker.
The pensioner from Burleigh Heads on Queensland’s Gold Coast started travelling after his wife passed away 10 years ago.
His first trip alone was at age 85, when he took a four-day bus loop through turkey, taking in Gallipoli for Anzac day as he’d always wanted to go.
Wright saves every penny so he can head overseas every other years, staying in hostels and two star hotels.
He also goes to Victoria every year for the Melbourne Cup. ....

Suspicions on True Origin of World s Oldest Impact Crater Have Now Been Confirmed
11 MARCH 2021
Earth and giant meteorites go way back, but new research confirms that what had been proposed as the oldest impact crater on the planet – the 100-kilometer (62-mile) wide Maniitsoq structure – isn t actually an impact crater at all.

Through a combination of field mapping, rock dating, and geological chemical analysis techniques, researchers have been able to show that features previously argued to be the faint signature of a long-eroded crater were anything but. The alleged structure is as much the product of the same geological processes as those that created the surrounding region. ....

People walk on them every day but not many look down and notice the stamps pressed into many Toronto concrete sidewalks.
The stamps are normally put into the concrete by the contractor or the city and include a date.
Contractors stamp sidewalks with a date and name of their company.
The date on one Toronto sidewalk caught the attention of one pedestrian recently who posted the find to Reddit. The person thought the sidewalk stamp date is 1893, and guessed it might be the oldest dated sidewalk in the city. ....
