SHREVEPORT, La. â Shreveport native Fate Winslow has been fatally shot just months after being released early from a life sentence in prison under Louisianaâs Habitual Offender Law.
According to the Caddo Parish Coronerâs Office, Winslow was pronounced dead at the scene of a May 4 shooting in the 4600 block of Linwood Avenue in Shreveport. His female companion, Tammy Sheree Williams Harris, 48, of the Linwood Avenue address, was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where she succumbed to her wounds. ....

On April 28, 2021 Manchester Police arrested 48 year old Cornelius Stanley on an active warrant in connection with a motor vehicle pursuit.
The incident dates back to January 16, 2021 when a Manchester Police Officer pulled a vehicle over on Manchester St for a traffic violation. As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver sped off. The officer pursued the vehicle with blue lights and sirens engaged. The driver was going well over the posted speed limit and weaving in and out of traffic. For safety reasons, the pursuit was called off.
Through the investigation, the officer was able to identify the driver as Cornelius Stanley of Manchester. Police learned that Stanley’s license was suspended and he was certified as a Habitual Offender. ....

Iowa City man accused of spitting on police while making multiple 911 calls to let his arrested girlfriend go

An Iowa City man who was wanted on warrants from an incident earlier this month was arrested Monday morning.
Police say at around 5pm, they were called to the 400 block of Westwinds Drive on reports of a woman harassing a neighbor. While they were dealing with the situation, 31-year-old Adam Gibson was on the second floor, standing on the front porch of his condo watching his girlfriend getting arrested. He allegedly spat on the officers; one was reportedly hit on his pant leg, while the other got spit on his hat and back.
Gibson went inside his condo, and 911 dispatchers say that he kept calling them demanding that they let his girlfriend go. He allegedly wouldn’t stop, and was belligerent and cursed at dispatchers. Gibson is accused of calling in at least 24 times. ....
