Kevin Harrison Tarwater “The Eggman,” 65, of Wears Valley, passed away at 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday July 13, 2021 of a serious illness. He was born on June 3, 1956 in Sevier County to parents, C.H. and Jean Evelyn Tarwater.
He was a sixth-generation farmer in Wears Valley and took over his family’s egg delivery business, Valley Home Farms Est. 1952, after graduating from high school.
His name, face, and laugh are known all over Sevier County.
He attended Wearwood Elementary and graduated from Sevier County High in 1974. It was at that high school that he met his loving wife of 43 years, Sharon King Tarwater. He and Sharon were high school sweethearts, meeting the year he graduated, then dating until they married on Oct. 7, 1977. He was a dedicated family man, who enjoyed doting on his wife and raising two children. ....

JUDGED AS EXCEPTIONAL. The word distinguished seems to fit Kelly Mark Easton.
The Kentucky Bar Association agrees. It’s Board of Governors recently presented Easton with its Distinguished Judge Award.
Easton has invested nearly 21 of his 57 years on the bench of Hardin Circuit Court. His reputation for fairness and legal knowledge is seldom rivaled – and neither is his modesty.
“I was surprised and humbled by receiving this award, because I have known and respected many of the prior recipients,” Easton said. “I consider it an encouragement of the work I have been blessed to be able to do.”
Outside the courtroom, Easton is an active member of Valley View Baptist Church in Vine Grove and participates in the Charles W. Logsdon Downtown Walking Tour where he regularly portrays President James Buchanan, who spent time in Elizabethtown practicing law. Keep Sevier Beautiful to hold 'Battle of the Litter'


SEVIERVILLE — Keep Sevier Beautiful will be holding a Battle of the Litter on Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
“This first annual Battle of the Litter is a great opportunity for our community to come together to help keep Sevier County clean and beautiful all while supporting their local police departments” said Executive Director, Lisa Bryant.
The Battle of the Litter is a competition between, Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, Sevierville Police Department, Pigeon Forge Police Department and Gatlinburg Police Department to see which department can recruit the most volunteers to pick up the most litter here in Sevier County. The lucky department will take into possession Keep Sevier Beautiful’s first Golden Litter Award. ....

Third round of WNY Fund microgrants supports 36 grants, $45,000 in COVID-19 relief | News, Sports, Jobs

For the third time since the beginning of the pandemic, philanthropic leaders in Cattaraugus County helped facilitate the distribution of microgrants from the WNY COVID-19 Community Fund Response Fund to organizations working on the front lines to provide relief to those most impacted by the ongoing pandemic, culminating in 36 grants totaling $45,000.
The Western New York COVID-19 Community Response Fund was created by the philanthropic community to support nonprofits addressing immediate needs in response to the COVID-19 crisis in the eight counties of Western New York.
In the prior rounds of grantmaking, the WNY Fund’s microgrant program issued $34,000 in relief funding to the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation, which acted as the fiscal agent to distribute grants to organizations providing needed services to vulnerable and impacted populations. ....
