Navi Mumbai: Giant faux lungs installed in Kharghar shows how pollution is affecting your health

In what could be a serious warning against the health hazard arising due to increasing pollution levels, giant faux lungs installed at Kharghar in
Navi Mumbai have turned from chalk white to black in just 10 days.
The lungs-shaped filter was installed in Sector 7 by an environmental organization Watawaran Foundation in order to showcase what polluted air does to our lungs and to raise awareness about the health implications of it.
This comes a month after the study suggested that morning walks could end up doing more damage to health, than doing good to the residents of Kharghar, Taloja and Panvel who were breathing polluted air for 17 hours every day. ....

Navi Mumbai: Residents of Kharghar-Taloja-Panvel are breathing polluted air

A month-long study conducted by an NGO has found that the residents living in the Kharghar-Panvel-Taloja belt are breathing
polluted air.
In fact, the study suggests that morning walks could end up doing more damage to people s health than good.
A month-long
air quality monitoring was carried by the
Waatavaran Foundation between November 13 to December 13, 2020, by installing five low-cost real-time air quality monitors.
One monitor was installed at
MIDC area of
Panvel, sector 36, and sector 7 in
Kharghar and Navade in Taloja.
