New university fund offers Irish entrepreneurs a bridge to the world


From an Irish perspective, it is the largest consolidated private investment supporting the commercialization of university research.

Atlantic Bridge, one of Europe’s top performing growth technology funds, has today announced the launch of University Bridge Fund II, an €80m fund focused on scaling and commercialising extensively validated research from Ireland’s third level institutions into the next generation of deep tech companies with global potential.
The fund is a unique partnership between Atlantic Bridge and Irish universities Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and University College Cork to accelerate the commercialisation of world class science and to globally scale the companies formed. €80m University Bridge Fund II launched

A new €80m fund that will be used to invest in companies that have grown out of research conducted in Irish third level institutions has been launched.
The University Bridge Fund II is led by European technology fund Atlantic Bridge, in partnership with a number of universities and includes a €20m contribution from Enterprise Ireland.
It is thought that the investment has the potential to create up to 1,000 new jobs over the next five years.
