Presenting his letter of appointment at the University’s Senate Chambers, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Alhaji Ahmed Alti said Mohammed was selected out of the three top candidates among the 35 candidates who jostled for the job.
“The Selection Committee worked for one, to interview and screen about 35 applicants. After the Board had done their work, they finally came up with the highest scorer of the selection and the interview, which three of them emerged.
“Then, the whole Governing Council was invited to come and receive the report of selection board, where the three candidates, according to the law were presented to the Governing Council. ....
